We were a celebrating group of family and friends and we went deluxe. The exclusive Verina Astra is located on one of the high spots on the island, within close walking distance to the villages of Artemonas and Apollonia. Down a dusty white road, the hotel is an oasis of calm and beauty. Not only is there an infinity swimming pool, but from our bed, an infinity view of the Agean sea. 
The staff is young, vibrant, beautiful and full of tips for restaurants and beaches. They could not have been more helpful or pleasant. Morning breakfast is cooked to order, and lunch and dinner are available either in the open air restaurant or in your room. The rooms are comfortable and stylish, with private terraces and an overall naturally sensual vibe.
It is a romantic, somewhat remote place that is excellent for honeymooners and those who want some peace and quiet. There is a path down to the rocky swimming hole, but remember who walks down, must walk up. The Cyclades islands are knows for their wind, so take a look at the sea before you start down the path.
Book early (like in the winter) because the rooms book up very quickly.
